I drove almost two hours to purchase a rifle and a scope combo from Van’s. I’d called earlier in the day and had them hold a rifle for me. After arriving close to 5:30pm, I waited for someone to help me for about five minutes. (Only one customer at the gun counter). A gentleman came over and asked if I wanted to see anything. I told him that I had called earlier but I wanted to also look at another rifle. He handed me the rifle and walked away. I looked at the rifle, then waited, and waited…. Laid the rifle on the counter and walked out. Fast forward several days and I just walked out of a certain sporting goods store in Bessemer with a $6,590 combo. I actually saved $425 too. Really awesome place but if I can’t receive top notch service I will gladly spend my money elsewhere.

Keith helped us with the purchase of a new rifle for my husband. He was very patient, knowledgeable and easy to work with. Will definitely be back for future purchases with the hopes that Keith will be there to help us again!

One of the coolest retail establishments in Alabama! They stock some of the best tackle around. Great staff and has that small town mom & pop feel to it. Always excited to visit.

I sold a Norinco SKS rifle to them. They didn’t give my asking price but came very close. I believe it was a fair deal. Their staff is very knowledgeable, honest, and friendly. They sometimes become overwhelmed by the volume of customers but they will occasionally acknowledge you and confirm that they will help you ASAP. If they can’t help you, their location is in a VERY gun-savvy county and if you strike up a conversation with another customer, sometimes they can help with questions or finding a specific item in the store (which is quite large and carries a lot of products so it’s sometimes challenging to find something without assistance).

This is a great shop! They got all the lures and guns you could ask for. Great selection of all the right bass fishing lures. They are on top of the latest guns and ammo too! This is a must stop!

Was planning on purchasing a silencer co suppressor wrap today, but ended up not getting one due to the bigger gentleman behind the gun counter not even giving me the time of day or offering to help me. I gave 3 stars because overall I do like Van’s, but today was not a good day. I did find the ammo I was looking for, that is the only reason I decided to make a purchase.
